I just watched Brandon Byars’ talk on Rethinking the Agile Enterprise and it blew my mind. I’ve never really seen some of the things I think about articulated so well and crystallized all together in one nicely packaged and wrapped talk.
The talk relates to scaling Agile and software development in very large organizations and it suggests a number of strategies you can try to get your organization there. Some are pretty radical and I love it - the bit about dissolving IT in particular. The most successful and fulfilling projects I have worked on involved reporting directly to the business unit consuming the software as opposed to the IT department.
Anyway highly recommended piece if you’ve got 30 minutes to spare.
